Most charter sites are a phone number and a highlight reel. This one is different on purpose. Whether or not you ever step on a boat, Sarasota.Fish is built to be the most useful fishing resource in Southwest Florida: real species guides with current FWC regulations, the actual spots — passes, points, bridges, dropoffs, and reefs — mapped with the geography that makes them fish, live tides and conditions, and an honest directory of other captains we're happy to send you to.
We name other guides, link the shops, and point you to every resource we'd use ourselves. That's the whole idea: be genuinely useful first, and the trips take care of themselves.
How the captain network works
Different days want different boats and different captains. A skinny-water redfish morning, a Boca Grande tarpon hill tide, an offshore grouper run, and a kids-and-family trip are four different specialists — not one do-everything boat. When you reach out, you tell us the target, the date, and who's coming, and we match you with the captain in the network who fits. No boat-shopping, no guesswork.
Where we fish
The network covers Sarasota, Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, Venice, Englewood, Boca Grande, Charlotte Harbor — and the water in between. Our areas guide breaks each one down: the ramps, the spots, and what bites where. Boca Grande — the Tarpon Capital of the World — is about thirty minutes south of the home dock, and our captains fish it in season.
The ethic
USCG-licensed captains, FWC rules followed to the letter, and a catch-and-release ethic on the fish that need it — over-slot snook, big trout, and every tarpon. We'd rather you release a fish right than keep one wrong. See our handling guide for how.
