Marinas & Fuel Docks: Anna Maria to Charlotte Harbor (2026)

32 marinas and fuel docks on the Sarasota Suncoast on one map — fuel types, transient dockage, pump-outs, and which sell live bait, from Marina Jack to Burnt Store.

Last reviewed July 21, 2026

Thirty-two marinas sell fuel or dockage between the Manatee River and Charlotte Harbor. The biggest downtown is Marina Jack on the Sarasota bayfront (298 slips, free public pump-out); the biggest on the coast is Safe Harbor Burnt Store on Charlotte Harbor, with over a thousand wet and dry berths. Below: every fuel stop on one map, then a directory with fuel type, transient dockage, and the ⚓ flag for the docks that sell live bait where you fuel.

Hours and fuel availability change seasonally and after storms — call the dock office before you count on a stop. For live pricing, check the Waterway Guide Gulf Coast fuel report before you run.

What should anglers know about fuel on this coast?

  • Non-ethanol matters. Twin Dolphin, Regatta Pointe, Royal Palm, Gulf Harbor, Gasparilla, and the Pine Island marinas pump ValvTect or ethanol-free gas; most other docks sell 90-octane rec fuel. Ethanol-free costs more but spares older outboards the water-absorption problems that strand boats.
  • Diesel is not everywhere, but it’s widespread now: Marina Jack, Twin Dolphin, Regatta Pointe, Longboat Key Club, Safe Harbor Siesta Key, Crow’s Nest, Fisherman’s Wharf, MarineMax Venice, Uncle Henry’s, Gasparilla, Boca Grande, Fishermen’s Village, and Safe Harbor Burnt Store all pump it. Plan the leg if you burn diesel.
  • Buy bait where you fuel. The ⚓ docks sell live bait at the fuel dock: Crow’s Nest (Venice), Gulf Harbor (Nokomis), Stump Pass and Skip’s (Englewood), Gasparilla and Eldred’s (Placida), Whidden’s (Boca Grande), and Four Winds and Pineland (Pine Island). The live-bait signal skews to the smaller working docks.
  • After-hours fueling exists at Marina Jack by card. Most other pumps close with the office — usually 5 PM.
  • Pump-outs: Marina Jack’s is free and public; Fisherman’s Wharf runs nine stations. Florida’s no-discharge rules apply throughout Sarasota Bay — see the FWC boating regulations page.
  • Weather: check the NOAA marine forecast before committing fuel to a long run — afternoon storms build fast June through September.

FAQ

Which marina has the cheapest fuel near Sarasota? Prices move weekly. The Waterway Guide fuel report tracks Gulf Coast dock prices; mainland docks (Twin Dolphin, Regatta Pointe, Gasparilla) generally beat barrier-island pumps.

Can I get a transient slip for a night? Yes — Marina Jack and Longboat Key Club keep transient docks in Sarasota Bay, Twin Dolphin and Regatta Pointe on the Manatee River, Crow’s Nest and Gulf Harbor at Venice/Nokomis, and Uncle Henry’s, Fishermen’s Village, and Safe Harbor Burnt Store on the Charlotte Harbor side. Book ahead February–April.

Is there a fuel dock with no bridges to the Gulf? Crow’s Nest and Fisherman’s Wharf, both at Venice Inlet. From either it’s open water to the Gulf — no spans, no opening schedules.

Where do I fuel up before fishing Boca Grande Pass? Gasparilla Marina or Eldred’s in Placida on the mainland, or Uncle Henry’s, Boca Grande Marina, and Whidden’s on the island. All sit within a short run of the pass, and Whidden’s and Eldred’s sell live bait.

Which marinas sell live bait at the fuel dock? Crow’s Nest (Venice), Gulf Harbor (Nokomis), Stump Pass and Skip’s (Englewood/Placida), Gasparilla and Eldred’s (Placida), Whidden’s (Boca Grande), and Four Winds and Pineland (Pine Island). Full list on our bait and tackle shops directory.

Do any marinas rent boats? Cannons (Longboat Key), Bradenton Beach Marina, Royal Palm, Stump Pass Marina, and Loggerhead Palm Harbour all run rental fleets alongside their slips.

Trailering instead of slipping? The boat ramps directory covers every public launch from Palmetto to Pine Island. Stock the livewell first via the bait and tackle shops guide, and plan the run home around a dock-and-dine stop from our eat your catch guide. New to the area? Sarasota, Venice, and Boca Grande each fish differently, and the right marina depends on which pass you want at sunrise — especially in tarpon season.
