Privacy Policy
What Sarasota.Fish collects when you use this site, what we do with it, and what we do not do with it.
The short version. We do not sell your data. We do not have accounts or logins, so there is nothing to sign up for and no profile to build. If you send us an enquiry we use it to answer you and to match you with a captain, and nothing else. The site uses the measurement tools listed below to understand how it is used.
1. What you give us directly
The enquiry form asks for your name, contact details, dates, group size, and what you want to fish for. We use that to reply, to quote, and to match you with a captain in the network — which means we pass it to the captain so they can run your trip. That is the whole point of sending it, but it is worth saying plainly.
We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone else. Enquiries reach us by email through our sending provider and are kept as long as they are useful for serving you.
Calling or texting 941-294-4144 leaves a record with the phone network in the ordinary way, the same as any other call.
2. What the site collects automatically
Our host, Cloudflare, keeps routine request logs for security and reliability. Beyond that, the site uses these measurement tools:
- Google Analytics (Google). Counts visits and pageviews, and reports roughly where visitors came from, which pages they read, and what device they used. Sets cookies. Google's privacy policy . Opt out: Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on .
- Meta Pixel (Meta (Facebook and Instagram)). Reports which pages were visited so that advertising on Facebook and Instagram can be measured and targeted. Sets cookies and sends data to Meta, who may match it to a Facebook or Instagram account. Meta's privacy policy . Opt out: Meta ad preferences .
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft). Records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling, and anonymised session replays — so we can see where the site is confusing. Typed input is masked by Clarity and is not recorded. Sets cookies. Microsoft's privacy statement . Opt out: Microsoft opt-out .
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare). Counts pageviews and measures loading speed. It is cookieless, does not fingerprint, and does not track anyone across sites or over time. Cloudflare's privacy policy .
3. Cookies
The tools listed above set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — the site works without them, and nothing on it is gated behind accepting them. Most browsers also offer a "do not track" setting and a private browsing mode.
4. Embedded content from other sites
Some pages embed material hosted elsewhere — YouTube videos, weather and marine maps, and mapping tiles. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited that site directly, and those providers may set their own cookies.
Where we can, we load embeds only when you ask for them. Videos and the weather map show a
still image and a button until you click, so nothing is loaded and no cookie is set unless
you choose to. Video then plays from
youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. More detail is in our
embedded video policy.
5. Children
This site is aimed at adults booking trips. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Family trips are booked by a parent or guardian.
6. Your choices
- Block or clear cookies in your browser.
- Use the opt-out links listed in section 2.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it — call or text 941-294-4144.
- Simply do not send an enquiry. Everything on this site is readable without one.
7. Changes
If we add or remove a measurement tool, this page changes with it — the list in section 2 is generated from the site's own configuration rather than maintained by hand, so it cannot quietly fall out of date. The review date at the top tells you when it was last checked.
8. Contact
Questions about any of this: call or text 941-294-4144, or text 941-400-0104.
This is a plain-language description of what we do. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a lawyer. See also our terms & liability.
