Tarpon Fishing Charters in Boca Grande, FL
Boca Grande tarpon charters — May–June peak in the Pass, live crabs on the falling hill tide, 80–150 lb fish. Six-hour trips from $600, book moon weeks early.
What Makes Boca Grande Different.
Boca Grande Pass holds the densest tarpon aggregation on the Gulf coast, and the season is short: fish pour into Boca Grande during April, peak May through mid-June, and thin out by July.
We fish the Hole — the 80-foot basin inside the pass — drifting live crabs on the falling hill tides around the full and new moons, when crab flushes off the Charlotte Harbor flats turn the pass on.
Special FWC gear rules apply inside the pass, and we fish them to the letter. Any weight rigged below the hook is banned year-round.
When the fleet gets thick we slide outside and sight-cast staging fish off Lighthouse Point and the Gasparilla Island beachfront in 10–20 feet. These are 80–150 pound tarpon on six-hour trips from $600, all catch-and-release per FWC tarpon rules. Time your dates against the tide calendar and book the moon weeks early — they go first every year.
The Trip & The Water.
Tarpon charters May–July from about $600 for 6 hours. 80–150 lb fish off Sarasota beaches and Boca Grande Pass — prices, peak weeks, and how the trip works.
