Snook Fishing on Anna Maria Island: Bean Point Rocks, the Beach Trough, and Three Piers

Anna Maria Island puts snook structure at both ends and a beach trough in between. Bean Point, the north tip where the Gulf meets the mouth of Tampa Bay, is the signature spot: snook hold along the rocks and the swash channel year-round and stage there in numbers through the summer spawn.

Passage Key Inlet sweeps past the point with serious current, and the fish feed on the tide seams, first light on moving water being the reliable window. The whole Gulf side fishes the summer beach pattern: from June through August, snook cruise the trough within 30 feet of the sand, and a quiet walker at dawn can sight-cast them one at a time with a white paddletail.

Longboat Pass at the south end concentrates fish around the bridge, the jetty rock, and the Beer Can Island spit on outgoing tides.
